For nearly three decades, Miller Center has been a leader in supporting social entrepreneurs who are building sustainable solutions to global challenges. As we look to the future, we see both an opportunity and a responsibility to push beyond our traditional boundaries — moving from program execution to systems change. That’s why we’re thrilled to introduce our new name: Miller Center for Global Impact.
This change is more than just a new name. It represents an evolution in how we approach impact and a deep commitment to our 2030 strategy. We are shifting from an accelerator model with post-program support to cultivating a thriving community of changemakers — providing entrepreneurs with the ongoing resources, networks, and catalytic capital they need to drive social and environmental change at scale. At the same time, we’re expanding our role as an impact-first investor to offer a range of catalytic capital solutions and help move the impact investing field forward.
Our new identity focuses on what we aim to achieve — lasting, systemic change that uplifts communities around the world as we work to end global poverty and protect the planet. Social entrepreneurship remains at the heart of our work to address poverty, but it’s the means, not the end.
“Miller Center for Global Impact” also brings us into greater alignment with Santa Clara University’s Impact 2030 strategic plan, as we support the university’s goals of expanding its global reach and advancing solutions for the universal good. As part of Santa Clara, we’re able to harness the university’s research, faculty expertise, and student engagement to drive greater impact and innovation.
Finally, this shift allows us to broaden our relevance across the university. While people often associate “entrepreneurship” with Silicon Valley startups, our work extends far beyond that framework. By emphasizing global impact, we invite students, faculty, and partners from disciplines as diverse as engineering, arts, environmental sciences, business, and more, to engage with our mission in new and meaningful ways.
Miller Center for Global Impact is more than a name. It’s a statement of intent and a call to action. It reflects our vision of a future where mission-driven enterprises are equipped with the necessary support and resources to effect transformational change.
