Description

The Harvest Fund works with Zambian women's farming cooperatives to bridge the "agricultural gender gap." In Zambia and similar countries, women are the backbone of agriculture yet toil away with their bare hands and feet. The Harvest Fund is a hybrid social enterprise - it has a charitable mission but generates revenue. We provide the women farmers with the seed, fertilizer, and technologies they need to make their farms more productive. In turn, we sell their produce. Our goal is to ensure that these women generate enough food and income to escape extreme poverty, avoid hunger, and fully educate the next generation.
