Description

The Community Outreach Program for the Deaf (COPD) has been providing community support to Deaf, DeafBlind and Hard of Hearing persons in southern Arizona since 1973. A broad range of services are provided that are designed to address the needs of Deaf and Hard of Hearing to include counseling, job training and placement, case management services, advocacy and communication access. The Community Outreach Program for the Deaf and Valley Center of the Deaf (Px) operate an interpreting program in both Arizona and New Mexico.
This operation is known as the Super Center. The Super Center provides interpreting service to Deaf and DeafBlind persons with a pool of over 200
highly qualified, licensed and certified interpreters who are either staff or are independent contract workers. The program matches interpreters (those
skilled and certified in interpreting) with the needs of the Deaf/DeafBlind consumer and the language needs of the business/organizational entity.
