Data with Purpose: Inside Saanvi Agrawal’s Miller Center Internship

Blog

Originally from San Ramon, California, Saanvi Agrawal began her journey at Santa Clara University in the fall of 2022. She was drawn to the strong community and excited by the opportunities SCU offered to grow in her field. Now a 2026 graduate with a degree in Management Information Systems and a minor in Computer Science, she reflects on the experiences that shaped her college career.

Saanvi first heard about Miller Center through a friend. When she ultimately found out about the Data and Project Management internship, it immediately spoke to her.

“It was the perfect opportunity to combine my passion and love for social entrepreneurship and helping others with technology,” she says, “I really enjoyed learning about all the different enterprises around the world and seeing the tangible impact of Miller Center and the lives it touched through the data.”

From Raw Data to Real Impact

As an intern, Saanvi’s proudest work was done alongside Tierra & Lava, a social enterprise in Miller Center’s network. Her project helped to build the foundation for an investor pitch. She learned to clean and organize raw information, create visualizations, and write SQL queries that brought the numbers into focus. But what made the work worthwhile was what the numbers represented: the journey of a company turning traditional ingredients into sustainable livelihoods and the farmers whose lives it was working to improve. “It was even more fulfilling when I saw the results from that project,” she says. She wasn’t just building a slide deck. She was crafting a narrative from real data that could open doors and move resources toward people who needed them. The data helped the organization take root in the minds of those who could support its growth.

Carrying it Forward

Since graduating, Saanvi has joined Visa as a Product Management and Solutioning Associate. She carries forward the belief that the best solutions are built with care for the people they serve.

Her time as an intern at Miller Center didn’t just add a line to her resume; it helped her understand something harder to teach. The most meaningful work can be done where your technical skills and values can evolve together.

Miller Center doesn’t just prepare students for what’s next. It walks with them as they find it. Saanvi’s story is one of many that remind them why that matters.
