Description
New Leaf designs and manufactures, an off-grid, compressor-free, renewable energy based refrigeration system called GreenCHILL. GreenCHILL is powered by farm-waste such as biogas, cow dung cakes, biomass pellets, wood and hay, etc, and provides safe storage and cooling of perishable good like fish, fruit, vegetables, flowers and other agricultural produce, at the village or farm level before transport to a market or to a processing facility. In the cold chain process, this step is called pre-cooling. The unit can cool up to 1,500 litres of milk or a maximum of 30 metric tons of perishables goods without the need for electric grid power or diesel generator backup.
