Kwangu Kwako Limited enhance and save lives through providing a safer, healthier and more secure housing alternative to the current widespread mabati and bush pole shacks ( informal structures). We improve the quality of life for families living in informal structures by replacing them with better structures. Our product is a simple, modular precast concrete structure made by local people from locally available materials.
Our proposal is different because it benefits all the stakeholders, tenants, the community, and also the structure owner or structure owner or landlord. It is our belief that other solutions have failed to gain significant traction because they were not attractive to the major stakeholders who control 86% of the land – the structure owner or landlords. Kwangu Kwako provides a solution that is attractive to the structure owner or landlord AND improves housing for the tenants. In addition to this, the structure owner or landlord themselves will be investing in the solution thereby securing buy-in, self-financing, and therefore long-term sustainability of the improvement.
Other project areas include building schools, manufacturing/fabricating modular toilets, and installing in previously single-room units.
